Julian Beere has made an amazing display of 25 years worth of sketchbooks, collections, and artists books.

He will also be doing experimental projections through glass onto cloth on Friday April 13th 10:00-1:00

Turnaround is a series of 11 exhibitions in 12 weeks by members of the Waltham Forest Arts Club in a pop-up gallery space in an all-windowed kiosk at the Wood Street Indoor Market from February 4th to April 27th 2012. A new exhibition opens every Saturday with an evening party the following Thursday 6-8. Turnaround is a curation project by Julie Caves, Julian Beere and Helen Porter.

Waltham Forest Arts Club organised an exhibition to coincide with the Waltham Forest Literature Festival.
May 23rd to 28th in The Red Room at Ye Olde Rose & Crown, 53 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 4SA.

The Long Conversation: Poetry and Painting
Painting is silent poetry, and poetry painting that speaks.” – Simonides

Written words that paint a picture or pictures full of poetry.

Artists were called to interpret the long-standing relationship between the written word and visual art, in the broadest terms.  All mediums were encouraged including: concrete poetry, text-based work, artists’ books, sound installations, photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture, performance, and poetry readings.  We would especially like to encourage our writers and poets to participate in this exhibition. There was a long table for display of books to be read, along with editions and cards.

I am working on two new books and an edition of lino prints for BABE.
Plus, I will have my usual back catalogue of books and postcards and I will be bringing back my book jewellery.

The Bristol Artist Book Event is held every other year at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol.
This year it is the weekend of the Royal Wedding- April 30th and May 1st.
BABE is organised by the lovely Sarah Bodman.

I have been invited to put three artist bookworks in a show at Westgate Studios called ‘Collect’.  It is a paper based exhibition featuring artists from around the UK. The exhibition runs from 27/01/10 – 10/02/10. The opening night (27th January 5-9pm) also coincides with Wakefield’s bi-monthly Artwalk.

I have contributed an image to Katja Rosenberg‘s piece Memory Game 2009.

It is a photograph of a yellow treetop against a blue sky that I took this autumn in Walthamstow.  She has used images from artists in the Waltham Forest Arts Club to create a set of boards for the classic memory game where you turn over the pieces and match pairs.  Many of the images are of areas in Walthamstow. She has made prints for the backs of the pieces.

You can see and purchase a piece from the edition at the WALTHAM FOREST ARTS CLUB WINTER SHOW.

The exhibition has many paintings and drawings, some sculpture and a video piece as well.  I have a painting from the Twilight series in the show.

Vestry House Museum, Walthamstow E17 9NH. A short walk from the terminus of the Victoria Line at Walthamstow Central.
The exhibition continues 10am till 5 pm, Wednesday to Sunday, up till Christmas.
